I've found I have a few little comments I make when people ask about it, but I'm realizing they don't sound as normal and reasonable to other people as they do to me. Things like, "Oh, we mostly just follow their lead," and "They are pretty self-directed learners." I get the impression most people think by that that I mean my kids just randomly come tell me, "I think I'll do a book report now," or "Do you have any math worksheets?" I mean, sure, some kids like workbooks and stuff, but that's not what I think of when I think of learning, and I know it's what most "schooled" adults think of.
